About the role

Senior Staff Design Manager leading a team of 6-7 product designers in a hybrid in-office role based in New York or San Francisco, focused on the Patreon consumer experience across creator and fan products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 6-7 product designers alongside another senior design manager
  • Represent the design leadership bench at Patreon
  • Stay close to the work in Figma, prototyping, or production code while partnering across product and engineering
  • Shaping the next chapter of design at Patreon
  • Act as a strong external voice for the design team, helping build Patreon's reputation as a great place to work
  • Drive outcomes rather than merely delivering assets

Qualifications

  • Shipped distinctive consumer software where design was central to the product's market position across a range of products/surfaces
  • Lead by example in craft (Figma, prototyping, or production code)
  • Proven manager with experience across different sizes and configurations of design teams (startup, scale, public)
  • Real AI fluency: daily use of AI tools and ability to drive measurable team-wide transformation
  • Track record of building and maintaining high talent density (top designers choosing to work for you) with leaders developed
  • Strategic thought partner across functions focused on shared outcomes
  • Strong external voice for team's work, brand, and craft
