About the role

Patreon is seeking a Contract Technical Sourcer to support engineering, product, and design hiring across levels in a hybrid, in-office role based in San Francisco or New York.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and technical leadership to define and run sourcing strategy for Engineering, Product, and Design roles across a range of levels, from early-career to senior and staff-plus
  • Run intake conversations with hiring teams to understand technical needs, translate them into target profiles, and set sourcing goals and timelines
  • Proactively identify and engage passive talent through LinkedIn, GitHub, open-source communities, technical forums, portfolios, conferences, and other channels
  • Write personalized, compelling outreach and continuously test messaging to engage engineers, product managers, and designers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates in early stages, providing a warm, high-touch experience
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines and talent pools for qualified candidates ahead of demand
  • Build sourcing strategies that expand reach and promote diversity in candidate slates
  • Track and report on pipeline health and funnel metrics to improve sourcing
  • Improve sourcing and early-stage processes by identifying bottlenecks and sharing best practices
  • Maintain accurate candidate data in the applicant tracking system

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience sourcing for technical roles (Engineering required; Product and/or Design a plus) at high-growth tech companies or startups
  • Strong understanding of technical landscape and ability to evaluate profiles against role requirements
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing tools and channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, social media, technical communities)
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system; Ashby experience strongly preferred
  • Track record of crafting creative, data-informed sourcing strategies that build diverse pipelines
  • Excellent written communication for outreach
  • Ability to collaborate with recruiters and senior technical stakeholders and influence hiring strategy
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with ability to manage multiple searches
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Genuine passion for the creator economy and Patreon’s mission
