About the role

PhD-track research role (3-year fixed term) at Meta FAIR Lab in Paris, focusing on foundational models, large language models, deep learning, computer vision, audio/speech processing, NLP, ML, RL, stats, cognitive science, and applied mathematics. PhD candidates pursue enrollment with a partnering academic institution and are jointly supervised by Meta and the academic lab. Open science / open source expectation. Rolling PhD positions; apply early.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research to advance the science and technology of intelligent systems
  • Perform research that improves computational understanding and representation of data
  • Devise data-driven models of human behavior
  • Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications
  • Collaborate and increase productivity on existing research projects

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning
  • Experience programming in at least one language (e.g., Python, C++)
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
