About the role
Higgsfield AI is seeking a Head of Revenue Accounting to own revenue recognition and the order-to-cash lifecycle end to end in a high-volume, consumption-based business. The role focuses on establishing and scaling processes, improving controls, and building infrastructure to support hypergrowth.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly revenue close across consumption and credit-based revenue model (credit grants, consumption, breakage, unused balances, refunds, chargebacks)
- Maintain and evolve revenue recognition policies under ASC 606
- Review non-standard commercial arrangements and determine appropriate accounting treatment
- Evaluate complex revenue considerations (principal-versus-agent, variable consideration, material rights)
- Own the order-to-cash lifecycle end to end (order capture, billing, invoicing, cash application, collections, disputes, revenue reporting)
- Manage billing across self-serve and enterprise models (usage-based billing, post-paid overages, true-ups)
- Own accounts receivable operations (aging, collections cadence, reserve methodology, write-offs)
- Design, document, and improve O2C workflows, controls, segregation of duties
- Own revenue automation and reconciliation environment (HubiFi, audit trail)
- Own revenue-related Stripe processes (payouts, fees, settlement timing, reconciliation)
- Partner with Engineering and Data for data quality supporting revenue recognition
- Drive automation across revenue close
- Own revenue and AR balance sheet reconciliations and bookings-to-cash analysis
- Own close calendar and opportunities to shorten close timelines
- Build revenue reporting and analytics for Finance
- Establish scalable controls and documentation
- Serve as primary Finance contact for external auditors on revenue recognition and O2C
- Prepare audit support, walkthroughs, reconciliations, process narratives
- Strengthen revenue processes and controls as the company scales
- Support audit readiness for increasing requirements
Qualifications
- 6+ years of accounting experience with meaningful depth in revenue accounting
- Strong practical knowledge of ASC 606 (variable consideration, breakage, principal versus agent, material rights)
- Hands-on experience owning revenue accounting in high-volume environments (usage-based, consumption-based, credit-based, or scaled subscriptions)
- Demonstrated experience owning order-to-cash processes (billing and accounts receivable)
- Experience working with payment platforms; Stripe experience strongly preferred
- Experience configuring or administering revenue automation or subscription billing systems (e.g., HubiFi, Zuora, NetSuite ARM, RevPro, Maxio)
- Strong analytical skills with transaction-level data
- Advanced Excel; SQL is a strong plus
- Ability to operate in a high-growth environment with evolving processes and systems
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration with Finance, Engineering, Data
