About the role

Technical leadership role shaping Claude Science, an AI workbench for researchers, with end-to-end ownership from product direction to production-ready systems that support scientific workflows across biology, chemistry, physics, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Ship fast against a roadmap you help shape: a product in a category no one has defined yet, focusing on high-leverage problems
  • Interface directly with working scientists—academic labs, industry R&D teams, and research institutes—translating findings into engineering priorities
  • Partner with product and design to turn scientists’ workflows—from hypothesis to analysis to publication—into shipped product
  • Work closely with research to improve models for science: shaping evals, surfacing failure modes, and feeding real-world user feedback back into model development

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with 2+ years at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level
  • Experience building products from 0 to 1 in fast-moving environments and setting technical direction with limited precedent
  • Experience building AI products and translating model capabilities into real-world applications
  • Comfort working directly with technical domain experts and translating learnings into work
  • Ability to drive cross-team alignment to ship impactful work with influence over authority
