About the role

Anduril's Fury team builds cutting-edge defense hardware in Columbus, Ohio, including flight vehicles, static equipment, and moving ground equipment, from prototype through rate. The role owns a product area's manufacturing for Fury, developing tooling, process flows, and build documentation for aircraft-class structural and electromechanical hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portion of the manufacturing value chain for a product, from prototype through rate.
  • Develop tooling for the fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into a logical flow of subassemblies and sub-processes.
  • Author build documentation, including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Work with contract manufacturers across PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly to develop repeatable processes.
  • Build prototype hardware hands-on with technicians and other engineers, and root-cause and resolve floor issues.
  • Operate with incomplete or evolving design inputs: ask the right questions, work from first principles, and create structure where none yet exists.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, or equivalent hands-on build experience.
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • ME fundamentals across drawings and GD&T, DFM, work instructions, and tooling, with comfort in ambiguity and rate.
  • Physically built hardware through machining, fabrication, composite layup, or assembly; personal projects count.
  • CAD proficiency, and exposure to production-planning tools such as ERP and MES.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
