About the role
Supervisor on the facilities operations team responsible for designing, building, activating, and maintaining technically advanced facilities. Manages multiple projects in a dynamic environment, ensuring low maintenance costs, competitive vendor participation, and a strong image with customers and visitors at the Southaven and Memphis sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of campus-wide systems; including mechanical/HVAC, electrical, compressed air, dust collectors, plumbing tasks (backflow preventers/etc), as well as other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operations
- Lead and direct a team of plumbing, compressed air, electrical, and HVAC-focused facility technicians
- Schedule daily work and prioritize assignments
- Develop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy
- Know and understand all safety procedures of SpaceXSI in order to observe the work of contractors and bring safety concerns to their attention as needed. Report all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to supervisor. Allow no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafe
- Maintain appropriate records for all trades as required
- Know and understand mechanical equipment such as: chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLC’s, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors and other mechanical equipment
- Communicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team morale and concerning issues
- Manage vendor/contractor finances. Work with SpaceXSI buyers and accounts payable to assure accounts are maintained
- Oversee team of techs, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience with facilities management
