About the role

Global Head of Strategic Supply Chain, a Senior Director role responsible for architecting, scaling, and executing enterprise-wide sourcing and supply chain strategy across direct and indirect commodities to support rapid prototyping, NPI, and high-rate production.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Supply Chain Vision & Strategy: Define and execute multi-year global commodity and sourcing strategies across direct (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical/Radar, Energetics/Raw Materials) and Indirect domains to drive cost reduction, supply chain resilience, and technology acceleration.
  • Team Leadership & Scale: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of commodity managers, strategic sourcing leads, and technical sourcing engineers across multiple global sites.
  • Executive Supplier Relationship Management: Serve as the executive sponsor for Tier 1 suppliers, Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and critical technology partners. Establish long-term strategic alliances, joint development agreements, and robust performance management systems (QBRs, KPIs, scorecards).
  • Cross-Functional Engineering Alignment: Partner with Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing to influence design-for-supply-chain, drive early supplier involvement in NPI, and ensure smooth transition to mass production.
  • Commercial & Strategic Negotiations: Lead negotiations for MSAs, development agreements, long-term supply agreements (LTSAs), and complex SOWs, optimizing pricing, IP protection, warranty, terms, and lead-time commitments.
  • Supply Chain Resilience & Risk Mitigation: Identify single-source dependencies, geopolitical vulnerabilities, capacity constraints; implement dual-sourcing, risk mitigation plans, and strategic buffer inventory models.
  • Cost Architecture & TCO Modeling: Develop should-cost, teardown analyses, and TCO evaluations from concept to end-of-life.
  • Executive Communication: Conduct regular reviews with C-suite and leadership, serving as escalation point for critical supply chain matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years in strategic sourcing, global commodity management, or supply chain leadership within complex hardware manufacturing.
  • 8+ years building, managing, and scaling procurement or supply chain teams.
  • Proven expertise negotiating enterprise-level agreements and managing diverse commodity portfolios (electronics, custom mechanicals, raw materials/chemicals, sensors/radar, or contract manufacturing).
  • Track record of managing supplier lifecycles and negotiating complex multi-million-dollar commercial agreements.
  • Deep understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) workflows and scaling from prototype to high-rate production.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%-50% domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa.
