About the role

Mechanical technician role focused on maintaining launch pad fluid and mechanical systems (hydraulics, high-pressure nitrogen/helium, cryogenic systems) in preparation for SpaceX launch operations at Vandenberg, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install fluid system components from schematics/engineering drawings (e.g., ball valves, check valves, pressure regulators, pressure gauges)
  • Troubleshoot operational issues in fluid and mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to ensure high-quality systems for 100% successful launches of multimillion-dollar vehicles
  • Operate heavy machinery including forklifts and aerial platforms
  • Perform hands-on work with both large and small assemblies
  • Conduct maintenance tasks across vehicle integration, pad maintenance, site preventative maintenance, general facilities, and other general maintenance to maintain an operational launch site (includes corrosion control)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of experience using power tools in a professional capacity

Skills
