About the role

MongoDB Pre-Sales Solutions Architects guide customers to design and build reliable, scalable systems using the MongoDB data platform. Remote role based in Germany, working with sales, engineers, and customers from startups to large enterprises to drive technical success and business value.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Architect: Design scalable and performant applications, systems and infrastructure for large software projects leveraging MongoDB
  • Customer Advising and Value Articulation: Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimisation strategies for MongoDB, while clearly communicating its business value to stakeholders
  • Sales Partnership: Collaborate with the sales team to drive account success through account planning, opportunity prioritization/qualification and pipeline generation strategy, while owning technical aspects (discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing, documentation)
  • Demand Generation: Proactively generate demand within the sales territory through self-driven technical initiatives and participation in events and ABM activities
  • Customer Success: Foster strong customer relationships, build champions and ensure customer success and satisfaction
  • Innovation and Improvement: Seek opportunities to innovate and improve MongoDB solutions and processes, mentor others
  • Personal Training and Development: Ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with product suite and industry trends

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of related industry experience, ideally 2 years in a customer facing role
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or languages such as C/C++, Java, C#
  • Experience implementing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-prem
  • Ability to review complex architectures with customers and provide guidance
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional sales team on end-to-end deal cycle
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fluency in German and English
