About the role

Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Maritime Systems role focused on bridging engineering design, supply chain, and shop-floor execution to define operational sequences, maintain manufacturing plans, MBOMs, and MES routings for advanced autonomous maritime systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Planning & Execution: Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing plans, translate complex 2D/3D drawings into work instructions, and optimize MES routings.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Own MBOM strategy and as-built configuration management, ensuring accurate EBOM-to-MBOM translation.
  • Production Scheduling & Prioritization: Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to establish build sequences, monitor order flow, and support ramp-up.
  • Engineering Change Coordination: Manage engineering changes across active manufacturing plans and assess impacts on MES routings, WIP, and delivery timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Interface between Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production Operations to align goals and commitments.
  • DFX Producibility Input: Engage with design teams during DFM/DFA reviews to optimize assembly sequences, build procedures, and routings for cost, quality, and scalability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze discrepancies, scrap, and process data using root-cause analysis to improve efficiency and yield.
  • Shop-Floor Support: Provide hands-on planning support during NPI, prototype builds, and rate ramp-ups.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, production planning, or production control in a complex electromechanical or hardware manufacturing environment.
  • NPI experience transitioning complex products from design to high-rate production.
  • Experience creating and maintaining MBOMs, building process routings, and translating EBOM structures.
  • Hands-on experience with MES and Product Data Management (PDM) software.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process maps.
  • Proven track record meeting aggressive timelines and making resource trade-offs to support delivery commitments.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
