Senior Product Sourcing Engineer role at Anduril Industries focusing on design-for-manufacturability, cost engineering, supplier qualification, and smooth transition of hardware from NPI to production within defense technology.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the Design Early: Embed with Design Engineering during concept and prototype phases to run technical reviews, drive DFM/DFA, and align design intent with what suppliers can actually build at rate.
  • Qualify the Supply Base: Evaluate and select global suppliers based on technical capability, process maturity, quality systems, and capacity to deliver complex assemblies against aggressive schedules.
  • Own the Cost Curve: Lead should-cost analyses, teardowns, and process assessments to expose cost drivers and drive design-to-cost initiatives without compromising performance, reliability, or margin.
  • Land NPI into Production: Run the technical transition from NPI into serial production — first-article inspections, PPAP, yield ramp, and resolution of early-stage manufacturing issues at the supplier floor.
  • De-Risk the Build: Identify technical single points of failure, qualify alternate processes or sources, and drive ECOs and corrective actions to unblock supplier-facing build issues before they hit the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years in a hybrid engineering / sourcing / supply chain role delivering hardware into production
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to your commodity and their cost drivers
  • Fluent in engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models, with solid GD&T instincts
  • Track record of working with suppliers to troubleshoot fab issues, improve yield, and drive rigorous root-cause corrective action (8D / CAPA)
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
