About the role

Structural engineer role focused on high-rise facility and infrastructure development for Starship production sites, with emphasis on rapid design, multi-story construction, and coordination of high-rise systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own structural engineering work packages for the production site design and development, with a heavy focus on integrated high rise facilities: design elements of multidisciplinary, multistory projects for new construction and modifications to existing structures; perform structural analyses and calculations; design for large steel and reinforced concrete buildings, including foundations; create drawings, calculations, and design summaries; estimate materials, schedules, and costs; write and manage construction contracts; project control tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control; manage multi-discipline projects and coordinate systems (MEP, HVAC); onsite field observations and resolution of field conflicts.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship
  • Maintain construction schedule and solve problems
  • Maintain positive relationships with end user, contractors, suppliers, and SpaceX employees
  • Engage with vendors to broaden contractor pool for high-rise projects
  • Prepare schedules and supervises final punch list completion
  • Promote job site safety and enforce safety policy
  • Ensure compliance with safety policy by employees and contractors
  • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and installation of facilities support equipment with trades, contractors, and officials
  • Communicate budgetary, drawing, and design updates to management and engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics
  • 1+ years of experience with the design or build of structural infrastructure
