About the role

Manager responsible for detecting, disrupting, and investigating potential misuse of Starlink services, balancing customer privacy with enforcement actions and maintaining trust by preventing illicit use of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and assess platform integrity and abuse risks
  • Design and develop solutions to priority risks; own deployment and effectiveness with stakeholders
  • Represent the team in cross-functional groups and appropriate areas of expertise
  • Establish expertise in 2+ investigative techniques, technologies, or abuse prevention strategies
  • Reactively investigate issues such as scams, fraud, and illicit goods/activities
  • Conduct periodic reviews to support legal and compliance obligations
  • Execute with consideration for customer privacy, targeting activities of indisputable harm and avoiding overreach

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations; OR 8+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations in lieu of a degree
  • 6+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS), and/or statistical software (e.g., R)
  • 6+ years of experience investigating, mitigating, or dealing with illicit operators (e.g., fraud, abuse, cybersecurity, or other illicit activities)
  • 3+ years owning and driving improvements in processes, technology, or other business areas to improve customer integrity or related capabilities
