About the role

Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop high power electrical systems for modular, automated electrolyzers; ownership of power converters, lab validation, and safety-conscious documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and develop novel ideas and architectural concepts for high power electrical systems (>100 kW, AC-DC), translating ideation into design decisions for system architecture and modularity.
  • Drive selection and validation of converter topologies against system requirements and own bench-top testing and experimental validation.
  • Design of power electronic converters, both AC-DC and DC-DC up to 50kW for integration into larger power systems.
  • Develop and maintain high quality Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) across design stages to communicate topology, protection, switching devices, and power flow.
  • Protection circuit design for current, voltage, and temperature.
  • Low voltage design for current, temperature, voltage measurements, CAN/RS-485 interface.
  • Development of isolation and ground schemes; low voltage/on-board power supply rails.
  • High power PCB design/layout with Altium; modeling and simulation of power circuits.
  • Selection of circuit components (MOSFET/IGBT, controllers, OP-amps & ADCs).
  • Define converter control concept and complete small signal design and analysis.
  • Power loss analysis; thermal design and analysis of power components.
  • Power quality design for 3 phase AC input (Power factor and THD).
  • Ensure designs comply with safety standards (UL, IEC, NFPA 70/NEC, IEEE) and participate in safety-focused design reviews.
  • Identify and document electrical hazards, mitigate risks, maintain design docs for audits and certification.
  • Oversee procurement and assembly of hardware; lab bring-up and verification; system integration and testing.
  • Work independently, making design changes with sound judgment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with extensive industry experience bringing power circuit designs from concept to deployment; Master’s degree is a plus.
