About the role

Research Scientist role focused on embodied AI and robotics, conducting fundamental and applied research to advance embodied artificial intelligence, with emphasis on transfer learning, learning from demonstration, reinforcement learning, world models, perception, and robot control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fundamental and applied research to push the scientific and technological frontiers of embodied artificial intelligence
  • Invent/improve novel data-driven paradigms for robotics, leveraging modalities such as images, video, text, audio, tactile, etc
  • Investigate paradigms for embodied behaviors ranging from simulated characters to real robots, short-horizon to long-horizon intelligence
  • Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies
  • Define, build and benchmark new capabilities for the next generation of AI
  • Conduct research towards long-term goals while identifying intermediate milestones
  • Lead, plan, and execute novel research based on long-term objectives of the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Language, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of industry experience in robotics-related research areas (e.g., robot learning, RL, imitation learning, world models, task and motion planning, sim-to-real, manipulation, navigation, embodied AI)
  • Experience in robotics, motion planning, embodied AI, human-robot interaction, sim-to-real transfer, learning from demonstration, RL, dexterous manipulation, digital agents, vision-language models, computer vision, egocentric perception, and/or LLMs
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at time of hire and maintain ongoing authorization
