About the role

Engineering Manager leading a team that builds internal tools to boost employee productivity, with a focus on security, authorization, and automation. Partner with internal users to define direction, augment tools with Claude, and drive scalable, user-friendly internal applications for Anthropic.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of engineers building full-stack internal tools for business-critical use cases
  • Partner with different teams to deeply understand their workflows and identify opportunities for improved productivity through engineering
  • Set technical direction and prioritize roadmap initiatives that drive the most impact for internal users
  • Foster a culture of rapid iteration, user feedback, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Champion best practices in API design, security, and user experience across the team
  • Monitor system reliability, build for operational excellence, and own incident response processes
  • Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management role
  • Track record of building and shipping production full-stack software with a focus on usability
  • Experience leading teams building and maintaining scalable internal applications and platforms
  • Strong technical judgment across modern web development (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go) and cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Skilled at translating ambiguous user needs into clear technical direction and priorities
  • Empathetic communication and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and direct reports
