About the role

IT Asset Management Technician I to support offboarding, asset recovery, audits, and occasional inventory/deployments. Focused on returning devices, verifying records, and aiding compliance and asset lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

  • Offboarding & Returns: manage offboarding cases end-to-end, confirm assigned devices, set return method/location, update stakeholders until devices are back.
  • Return Logistics: issue return shipping labels and QR codes, arrange return boxes, track shipments, follow up on unreturned devices per escalation timelines.
  • Receiving & Verification: receive returned devices, verify serial numbers against asset records, update asset management system the same day.
  • Data & Device Security: follow data-preservation and legal-hold procedures, perform device imaging when required, wipe and reinventory devices.
  • Return Tracking: maintain return tracker, close completed cases, report outstanding devices and trends.
  • Volume Surges: handle high-volume events (e.g., intern cohorts) with organization and follow-through.
  • Auditing: run recurring audits to verify device ownership/location, investigate discrepancies, support user verifications for compliance.
  • Inventory & Deployment Support (as needed): physically move and stock inventory (lift up to 50 lbs), clean/wipe returned assets, coordinate repairs/RMA, set up desks for new hires, resolve tickets in Jira, provide deskside support.

Qualifications

  • Soft Skills: eager, motivated, collaborative, reliable, customer-focused with professional communication.
  • Organization & Follow-Through: manage multiple open cases, track deadlines, follow up to close each case.
  • Attention to Detail: verify serial numbers and match records.
  • Inventory Control: experience maintaining accurate inventory counts and asset records.
  • Discretion: handle sensitive situations and data with confidentiality (including involuntary separations and legal holds).
  • Physical Capability: able to lift 50 lbs+, stand/walk for long periods.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
