About the role

Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer responsible for core routing, switching, WAN/backbone transport, multi-cloud interconnects, and edge security. Partners with network automation and wireless/RF teams to design, implement, and operate multi-vendor, multi-cloud networks with strong emphasis on observability, security, and Tier-3 escalation support.

Responsibilities

  • Design, scale, and maintain resilient campus, datacenter, and field-test networks utilizing both traditional three-tier and EVPN-VXLAN fabric designs across Arista (EOS) and Cisco (Catalyst/Nexus) platforms.
  • Architect, scale, and maintain corporate and datacenter WAN backbone—owning carrier circuit delivery, capacity planning, and turn-up for optical waves, dark fiber, and DIA across colocation and telecom providers.
  • Design, provision, and maintain resilient hybrid-cloud transit networks across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Implement and manage dedicated interconnects (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect), Transit Gateways/VNet Hubs, dynamic BGP peering, and cloud-native routing architectures.
  • Develop scalable network standards, reference architectures, and implementation patterns.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and provide technical direction for complex network initiatives.
  • Partner with the Senior Network Automation Engineer to drive Network-as-Code workflows—defining data models, drafting templates, and shaping API integrations using Python, Nornir, and Jinja2.
  • Collaborate with Wireless/RF Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain campus-wide and field Wi‑Fi deployments (Aruba, Juniper Mist) with 802.1X/EAP-TLS emphasis.
  • Implement, audit, and manage Layer 3–7 security policies, microsegmentation, and site-to-site IPsec tunnels using Palo Alto Networks NGFWs via Panorama.
  • Elevate telemetry with deep-visibility tooling, flow analysis, and streaming dashboards (Grafana, Prometheus, Syslog) to improve MTTR and alerting fidelity.
  • Act as final escalation point for critical network issues, lead post-mortems, and participate in Tier-3 on-call rotation.
  • Mentor and upskill junior engineers through runbooks, architectural reviews, and pairing sessions.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, scaling, and maintaining complex multi-vendor enterprise, backbone, and campus production networks.
  • Advanced Routing, Switching & Multi-Tenancy: Deep BGP (path selection, communities, convergence), OSPF; EVPN-VXLAN fabrics; multi-tenant architectures (VRFs, dynamic & micro/macro-segmentation); expert packet analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark).
  • Experience with carriers/telecom providers for high-bandwidth transport circuits (10G/100G waves, dark fiber, DIAs).
  • Proven provisioning/troubleshooting of cloud-native networking components and dedicated connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, GCP Interconnect, VPC/VNet, Transit Gateways).
  • Automation Fluency & Collaboration: Python foundational skills; familiarity with Nornir, Jinja2, Netmiko; REST APIs; Git workflows.
  • Multi-Vendor Hardware Mastery: Arista EOS/CVP, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Palo Alto NGFW, Juniper Mist, Aruba Mist/Conductor, ClearPass integration.
