About the role

Senior Backend Engineer on the Customer Experience (CX) team building a world-class Customer Support platform, scaling high-volume backend systems, and delivering AI-powered automations to solve customer issues at scale. Remote-friendly with on-site hubs in SF, Seattle, LA, or NY; requires 5+ years of experience and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Build new user-facing experiences and scale internal infrastructure for the Customer Experience platform.
  • Design and implement AI-powered automations to resolve thousands of customer issues per hour.
  • Lead solutions end-to-end, translating ambiguous business problems into clear technical plans and driving delivery and experimentation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high-growth startups
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Backend expertise with a track record of building end-to-end product experiences and scaling high-scale backend systems
  • Experience with Python, Elixir, and/or Postgres (plus)
  • Ownership mindset: able to own projects from inception to production and beyond
  • Product instinct: translate user needs into technical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguity
  • Team leadership: foster inclusive, supportive team culture
