About the role

Canvass Manager position in Michigan (Macomb/Oakland/Thumb) overseeing paid canvasser operations within a regional field program, focusing on door-to-door outreach, training, supervision, and health/safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Train canvassers, launch canvass events, and supervise a team of canvassers in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Front-line voter outreach including regular door-to-door canvassing in local and statewide campaigns.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely regional data entry.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
  • Recruit, schedule, and confirm canvassers.
  • Assist with delivering training programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 cycles of paid field campaign or other door-to-door canvassing experience.
  • Commitment to building power in the progressive movement.
  • Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN/LAN preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy; strong Excel knowledge a plus; access to reliable portable computer.
  • Reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong coaching and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
  • Bilingual experience is a plus but not required.

  • Retention bonus of $500 after completing 10 scheduled canvas/management shifts between Oct 16 and Oct 30.
  • GOTV bonus of $250 after completing one qualifying shift Oct 31–Nov 3.
  • Gas-card incentives may be available.
