About the role

Senior, hands-on Infrastructure Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage security controls and frameworks protecting Figure's backend services and infrastructure. Focus areas include secure defaults, self-service guardrails, and roadmap shaping within a growing security space.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across teams: work with DevOps/Infrastructure to securely roll out AI tooling, secure deployment paths, service-to-service communication, and network boundaries; partner with Networking on data-center and cloud network security (NSGs, segmentation, VPC structure, private connectivity, egress policy); enable Detection & Response by ensuring telemetry and incident context across environments.
  • Authentication / Authorization: own multi-cloud authentication and authorization (centralized SSO for humans, workload identity, federated credentials for machines, least-privilege across cloud providers); extend identity model to on-prem and neocloud; hardware-rooted machine identity; move to short-lived, workload-scoped authentication and just-in-time elevated access.
  • Visibility: measure posture with asset/identity inventory, configuration drift detection, and coverage metrics across cloud/on-prem/neocloud; remediation tracking across environments.
  • Networking: advance zero-trust networking with identity-aware, posture-gated access; no public IPs; enforce egress controls; define secure-by-default networking patterns with versioned, auditable rules.

Qualifications

  • Experience and security knowledge in Kubernetes, containers, service mesh, networking, OS internals, authentication/authorization protocols, and cloud security tools.
  • Experience developing and deploying services in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP), preferably in at least two of them.
  • 6+ years of security / software development experience.
  • Strong software engineering skills (not just scripting) in C/C++, Rust, Golang, Python or similar.
  • Passion for learning and helping others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of related experience.

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 - $250,000 annually.
