About the role

HVAC Programmer at SpaceX develops and integrates applications into the technical infrastructure and business processes, delivering a complete programming package (Sequence of Operation, Virtual Points, pre-tested programming, onsite Functional Test) and training technicians to interact with control systems for critical facilities at Starbase, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Set up process to write all programs and virtual points
  • Collaborate with engineers and HVAC lead/manager to produce controller and graphical software meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Incorporate third party software into building automation system designs
  • Identify and obtain components to network building automation system workstations; configure networking software
  • Set up virtual and/or physical test systems to test programming prior to release to the field
  • Create functional test checkout sheets for specialist checkout books
  • Provide technical support before, during, and after system installation to engineers/HVAC lead/manager regarding automation systems
  • Provide recommendations to improve reliability of environmental control automation systems
  • In-house software support and maintenance of existing system software
  • Onsite assistance at critical facilities with functional testing as required
  • Perform administrative duties (expense reports, issue documentation, time tracking, weekly reports, vendor quotes, purchase orders)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of experience with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical systems and control systems
