About the role

Strategic procurement role focusing on indirect spend in food, facilities services, and SG&A for SpaceX. Drives category strategies, supplier management, and cost reduction initiatives in a fast-moving environment. Onsite in Anderson, TX.

Responsibilities

  • - Strategy/Sourcing: Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department including but not limited to payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings
  • - Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize value and support business unit requirements; drive compliance to category strategies and provide solutions to difficult problems
  • - Change Management: Partner across functions and with senior stakeholders and external suppliers to drive results and facilitate change management
  • - Analysis: Perform advanced quantitative analysis to identify financial impacts, develop models to improve cost, define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure performance
  • - Risk Management: Analyze global supply chain dynamics and market volatility; develop procurement strategies like multi-sourcing and diversification
  • - Research & Benchmarking: Conduct market analysis for assigned categories
  • - Contract Management: Author contracts with Legal; ensure supplier performance and interpret contract terms
  • - Negotiations: Maximize value and cost savings while lowering risk
  • - Supplier Management: Manage preferred suppliers and implement programs to monitor KPIs and performance
  • - Tactical Purchasing: Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices
  • - Independence: Perform assignments with limited instruction
  • - Efficiency: Lead efforts to reduce transaction counts for assigned categories

Qualifications

  • - Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or operations/supply chain management
  • - or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in the same areas
