About the role

Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers responsible for Starshield network defenses, vulnerability discovery, incident response, and ongoing security improvements in a hands-on role supporting SpaceX Starshield, the US government satellite constellation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers responsible for immediate threat response against systems.
  • Implement Starshield's cyber defense strategy and continually assess threats to develop countermeasures; conduct red-team style exercises.
  • Lead vulnerability discovery efforts across Starshield; conduct internal bug hunts and utilize tools including AI to accelerate discovery and remediation.
  • Drive improvements in incident discovery and response; collaborate with teams building security event detection systems.
  • Collaborate across teams with security feature implementations and internal incident discovery tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer security, or a similar field, and 7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity for active production systems; OR 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity for active production systems.
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports.
  • Experience in implementing systems for adversary detection and incident response.
