About the role

Join Crusoe as a Senior Project Controls Manager responsible for cost and schedule integrity across Engineered to Order (ETO) manufacturing programs. Establish and enforce baseline discipline, manage cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion tooling, lead monthly program economics reviews, and own SOPs, tooling, and data integrity to ensure credible forecasts and cross-sector consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Baseline Standards and Governance: Establish and maintain PMO-wide standards for cost and schedule baselining, including a common WBS and cost code structure across both manufacturing sectors.
  • Baseline Change Control Standard: Define cross-sector baseline revision processes, approvals, and visibility; audit compliance across sectors.
  • Estimate-to-Baseline Handoff: Validate awarded scope, quoted hours, material costs, and margin assumptions before program start.
  • Budget Reporting and Forecasting: Build cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion tooling; ensure PMs own numbers and collaborate on standard and cadence.
  • Monthly Program Economics Review: Own monthly economics review across sectors; validate costs, drive variance and recovery items, track action closure.
  • SOP and Tooling Ownership: Own SOPs and tooling; write procedures, version, train PMs, and revise as needed.
  • Reporting and Dashboard Tooling: Build and maintain data layer and reporting tooling behind executive dashboards.
  • Data Integrity and ERP Governance: Oversee cost data hygiene, WIP accuracy, BOM-to-job-cost alignment, and drift correction.
  • Portfolio Risk and Contingency Management: Track contingency and risk allowance; provide defensible view of remaining cushion.
  • PM Enablement and Training: Onboard and train PMs on controls toolset and reporting standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance on revenue recognition, WIP valuation, and variance explanations.
  • Post-Mortem Analysis: Lead financial and schedule post-mortems at project close-out and publish trend findings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6+ years in project controls, cost engineering, or manufacturing finance in an ETO or make-to-order environment.
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, or related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated ownership of cost baselines, earned value or equivalent progress measurement, and estimate-at-completion forecasting.
  • Advanced Google Sheets modeling including dynamic cost structures, sensitivity analysis, and large-scale data reconciliation.
  • Hands-on ERP experience for job costing, work orders, and BOM-level cost roll-up; proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong scheduling literacy across Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com, or Primavera P6; ability to audit and correct schedule logic.
  • Proven ability to influence project managers and operations leaders without direct authority.
