About the role

Senior Manager role focused on driving MongoDB's inorganic growth through end-to-end M&A execution and strategic investments, with close collaboration to the Sr. Director of Corporate Development & Ventures and involvement with the Ventures platform.

Responsibilities

  • Independently source, evaluate, and run your own pipeline of M&A and investment opportunities, from initial engagement through LOI
  • Build and pressure-test valuation, structure, and strategic rationale, partnering with the Sr. Director and VP on the most complex or highest-stakes calls
  • Know when to move on your own judgment and when to escalate
  • Serve as the primary driver across every Corp Dev workstream to close once a deal signs an LOI
  • Run tight, focused diligence across technical, product, commercial, and financial dimensions
  • Coordinate structuring and cross-functional input so nothing stalls between LOI and closure
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguity in the final stretch of a deal
  • Serve as the primary driver through LOI signing, partner with the Integration Team on integration planning, then hand off to the Integration team
  • Surface actionable opportunities from a strong, continuously refreshed pipeline in partnership with Ventures
  • Maintain understanding of competitive and technological landscape
  • Move quickly and flag high-conviction opportunities to senior leadership
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on strategic fit and integration
  • Work with Finance and Legal to structure and close transactions efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders across the business, including senior leadership
  • Independently own and close well-scoped transactions end-to-end
  • Manage multiple live deals simultaneously without loss of focus or rigor
  • Build track record and judgment for progressively larger transactions
  • Contribute to increased overall quality and effectiveness of Corporate Development

Qualifications

  • Has 4–8 years of experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Venture Capital
  • Meaningful experience running deal workstreams and owning transactions end-to-end
  • Ability to operate independently with appropriate escalation to Sr. Director/VP
  • Strong judgment under time pressure and incomplete information
  • High analytical rigor with ability to proceed without perfect data
  • Ability to engage credibly with technical leaders while maintaining business perspective
  • Direct, low-ego, and accountable mindset focused on outcomes
