About the role

MongoDB seeks a Hybrid-based Pre-Sales Solution Architect in Madrid to guide customers in designing and deploying scalable, reliable systems using the MongoDB data platform. The role involves working with sales, guiding architecture reviews, demos, and technical discovery to drive account success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable and performant applications, systems and infrastructure for large software projects leveraging MongoDB
  • Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimisation strategies for MongoDB, communicating business value to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive account success through account planning, opportunity qualification, and pipeline strategy, owning technical aspects (discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing, documentation)
  • Proactively generate demand within the sales territory through technical initiatives and events (industry trade shows, ABM events)
  • Foster strong customer relationships, build champions, ensure customer success and satisfaction
  • Seek opportunities to innovate and improve MongoDB solutions and processes, mentor other Solutions Consulting team members
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with product suite and industry trends

Qualifications

  • Ideally 8 to 11 years of related experience in a customer facing role, with 5 to 7 years in pre-sales with enterprise software
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or popular programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java, C#) in a professional capacity
  • Experience designing with scalable and highly available distributed systems in the cloud and on-prem
  • Demonstrated ability to review complex architecture with customers and advise on improvements using technology
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for both technical and business leadership
  • Ability to strategize with sales teams and coordinate resources for mutually beneficial account plans
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
