About the role

Internship role in Meta's Network Engineering team focused on building and maintaining large-scale, multi-vendor network infrastructure, with emphasis on automation, network design, and production deployment to support billions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks
  • Define, and develop optimized network monitoring and automation systems
  • Partner alongside engineers on code and systems that are in production and support billions of users worldwide

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and obtaining a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with computer networks
  • Experience in UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar
  • Experience coding in at least one language (Python and C++ are all in heavy use)
  • Ability to learn new concepts around network design and management
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
