About the role

Senior Electrical Engineer to own board design for Thunder, an autonomous attack rotorcraft. Leads full lifecycle of custom, flight-critical PCBs integrating sensors, communications, and processing hardware; responsible for robust digital and power electronics within harsh aerospace environments, from schematic capture to flight testing, in collaboration with mechanical, software, and systems teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design embedded electronics from concept to functional prototype, including hardware selection, schematic & PCB design, board bring-up, and system level integration
  • Troubleshoot issues spanning electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment and basic software debugging tools
  • Work with modern SoCs and networking hardware to build Anduril platforms
  • Collaborate with firmware/software engineers for processor/peripheral selection, board bring up, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products
  • Support fast-paced development, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware
  • Manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex hardware, embedded systems, and products
  • Experience with multi-gigabit SERDES, DDR memory busses, Ethernet MAC and PHY interfaces, FPGAs, and SPI/I2C
  • Experience with microprocessor and microcontroller selection, configuration, and interfacing
  • Experience with component, schematic capture, high speed board design, and guiding PCB layout
  • Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes) and test automation
  • Familiarity with product development processes and tools
  • Knowledge of embedded software development (timers, interrupts, SPI peripherals, ADCs)
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux development (device trees, drivers, bootloaders, Unix/Linux tools)
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools
  • Familiarity with Python for test automation
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
