About the role

Senior Incident Response Manager focused on privacy incidents involving personal data under GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and similar laws. Owns and matures the privacy incident management lifecycle from detection to post-incident review, coordinates cross-functional teams, and partners with Privacy Legal and the Privacy Program for notifiability, communications, and executive reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as incident commander for privacy incidents, driving coordination across executive, engineering, security, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and run incident commander rotations within privacy, ensuring clear ownership during incidents of varying severity.
  • Drive post-incident accountability by defining how action items are captured, assigned, tracked, and completed across teams.
  • Gather, analyze, and report on incident trends and patterns to surface systemic risks and recurring root causes.
  • Translate trend analysis into actionable cross-functional initiatives with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams to implement broad fixes.
  • Lead incident review forums (post-mortems, retrospectives) and ensure learnings are socialized and acted upon.
  • Partner with Privacy Legal on breach and notifiability assessments against regulatory timelines and coordinate communications as required.
  • Develop and maintain privacy incident response documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and training materials; keep them current.
  • Collaborate with detection engineering to improve alert fidelity and reduce noise.
  • Define, develop, and track incident management KPIs and report to leadership.
  • Support cross-functional training and privacy awareness initiatives across the company.

Qualifications

  • Have led or built incident response programs at a technology company, ideally in a high-growth or security-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of turning incident data into organizational improvements and driving cross-functional implementation of systemic fixes.
  • Comfortable participating in on-call responsibilities and leading incident response during high-severity privacy events, including off-hours.
  • Experience building and scaling operational processes from the ground up in environments with little prior structure.
  • Ability to drive accountability and follow-through across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical skills with incident trend analysis, metrics reporting, and data-driven prioritization.
