About the role

Senior GNC Engineer responsible for architecture, design, and delivery of Guidance, Navigation and Control subsystems for autonomous robotic platforms, including XL-AUV program, across the product life-cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture selection, design and implementation for GNC sub-systems and control schemes for autonomous robotic platforms
  • Integrate technology from third-party vendors, local partners, and internal teams
  • Contribute to design and development of other embedded sub-systems
  • Develop real-time embedded software using an RTOS
  • Create test and simulation fixtures with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop
  • Develop modeling and simulation capabilities for testing data capture and model validation
  • Analyze test data to verify vehicle performance and debug incidents
  • Drive lightweight root cause analyses for GNC-related anomalies or incidents
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment
  • Mentor Software and Hardware Engineers from differing backgrounds

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience (at least 6 years) with development of high assurance safety critical GNC software (cascading/adaptive controls, transfer functions)
  • Systems programming skills (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, optimization)
  • Extensive experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
