About the role

Engineering role on the Robotics Data Foundation team focused on building Anduril-wide cloud systems to ingest, store, normalize, and expose vehicle telemetry data from onboard systems to the cloud for real-time and batch analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Build reliable and performant cloud data systems: ingest high volumes of telemetry with high availability and stability.
  • Design extensible telemetry and data architectures to accommodate diverse data sources and integrate them into a standardized ingestion framework.
  • Enable data-driven engineering in real-time by delivering live telemetry streams and recorded data to cloud destinations and analysis tools for engineers, operators, and test teams.
  • Build and develop cloud-native systems that are edge-compatible, delivering capabilities to edge nodes and fielding data systems to classified environments.
  • Engage with customers to understand data requirements and iteratively deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with modern lakehouse architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake), ETL systems (Flyte, Dagster, Airflow, Argo Workflows), and distributed data processing engines (Spark, Trino, etc.).
  • Experience developing and operating high-throughput streaming data pipelines (Spark Streaming, Flink, Kafka).
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Rust, and/or Go (team predominantly uses Python & Rust for core backend services and pipelines).
  • Experience building and operating cloud systems, including containerization and deployability technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps systems like FluxCD / ArgoCD).
  • U.S. Person status required for access to export controlled data; eligibility to obtain/maintain a US Top Secret clearance desirable.
