About the role

Senior Sales Engineer role focusing on pre-sales for Prefect, Dagster, and AI tooling across platforms, owning the technical side of enterprise deals from discovery to close, and collaborating with account executives to demonstrate and validate solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical side of enterprise deals. From discovery through close: advising prospects, presenting and demonstrating the value of our platforms from a technical perspective.
  • Distill the use case. Analyze customer environments and map product fit to solve their use case, validating the approach.
  • Sell across the platform. Engage across Prefect, Dagster, FastMCP, hybrid architecture, and AI governance.
  • Turn field signal into product direction. Provide market feedback to GTM-engineering channels with evidence.
  • Build demo environments, architecture diagrams, competitive battlecards, contribute to internal repos, and occasionally write blog posts.
  • Contribute and advocate for ideas. Maintain culture, prevent project failure, speak up early when issues arise and help fix them.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience, building real solutions. Python is house language.
  • 2+ years in a customer facing role with deep discovery skills.
  • Curiosity first, then creativity; ability to deconstruct and reassemble solutions.
  • Ability to explain hard things clearly to engineers; earns trust of senior engineers.
