About the role

Finance & Accounting at Bree seeks an Accounting Lead to own end-to-end close, move in-house accounting processes, and drive the ERP implementation, while maintaining day-to-day accounting and supporting audits.

Responsibilities

  • Own AP and AR end to end. Review incoming items, resolve mismatches, chase quiet vendors, and keep aging current for both payables and receivables.
  • Bring journal entries in house. Post recurring and one-off entries with supporting documentation suitable for auditor review.
  • Run the close. Manage accruals, account analysis, reconciliations, and working papers for month-end and year-end under ASPE.
  • Produce the statements. Build financials, intercompany, and schedules for the management reporting package across two entities.
  • Take the lead on the ERP implementation. Configuration, data validation, testing, documentation, and defining workflow post-live (Controller collaboration).
  • Automate processes to reduce manual work, leveraging LLMs where applicable.
  • Support the audit. Prepare schedules, respond to auditors, and close loop on auditor questions (shared with Controller).

Qualifications

  • CPA is a plus, not a requirement.
  • 4+ years of full-cycle accounting, including owning a month-end close.
  • Real ASPE grounding and the ability to document positions with rationale when unusual items arise.
  • Multi-entity experience (consolidations, intercompany, dual books).
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in variances.
  • Technically literate with Excel/Google Sheets at scale; SQL or willingness to learn (data hosted in Snowflake and queried via Metabase).
  • High agency and proactive communication; concise communicator; low ego.
