About the role

Lead Whatnot's global tax and treasury functions, owning tax strategy, reporting, and compliance; cash and liquidity management; banking and investments; and the team, controls, and systems to support a rapidly scaling marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tax strategy, reporting, and compliance for the global business.
  • Manage cash and liquidity planning, forecasting, and investments.
  • Oversee banking relationships, treasury operations, and intercompany funding.
  • Build and lead the tax and treasury teams, controls, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Payments, Legal, Product, and Engineering to manage risk and scale across new products and markets.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive corporate tax, treasury, or finance leadership, including ownership of global tax and treasury in a multinational business.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740, U.S. corporate and international tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax, and global tax compliance and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with liquidity planning, cash forecasting, investments, banking relationships, FX risk, and intercompany funding.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred) plus in-house experience at a high-growth technology, marketplace, payments, or e-commerce company.
  • Experience supporting international expansion, M&A, financing transactions, and complex legal entity structures.
  • Proven ability to build teams, systems, controls, and processes in a fast-changing environment; strong executive communication and influence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MST, CTP, JD or other advanced credential strongly preferred.
