About the role

Tax Specialist at Lovable, performing operational tax compliance for a multi-entity company, supporting tax accounting, filings, and process automation in a fast-growing AI company.

Location: Stockholm, on-site. Full-time role in a small central tax team reporting to Head of Tax and Senior Tax Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Run our operational tax controls, including systematic and automated VAT ID validation on customers and vendors
  • Withholding tax on outbound payments, including W-forms
  • US sales tax exemption certificates and related forms
  • Reviewing customer and supplier invoices and expenses for correct tax treatment and deductibility
  • Keep track of tax registrations and filing status across jurisdictions (US states and foreign VAT)
  • Support tax accounting: provisions, reconciliations between tax and accounting, tax notes and month-end/year-end deliverables
  • Support recurring filings with external advisors: corporate income tax, VAT and US federal, state and sales tax
  • Be a first point of contact for accounting on tax questions and support the team on audits and ad hoc requests
  • Improve processes using AI and automation to systematise recurring work

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in tax, accounting or audit
  • Good understanding of both tax and accounting and how they connect (VAT, withholding tax, intercompany invoicing, provisions, tax vs accounting treatment)
  • Self-starter mindset
  • Attention to detail and stamina for follow-up with accounting, advisors and the business
  • AI-first mindset and preference for repeatable processes
  • Comfort working in a small, not fully defined team
  • Excellent English
  • Based in Stockholm or willing to relocate
