About the role

Data & Insights role focused on making data a core lever for product and business decisions. Highly autonomous, partnering with product and engineering to define metrics, run experiments, and influence roadmaps, while evolving data architecture and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product and engineering to identify opportunities, define metrics, run experiments, and influence the roadmap
  • Turn messy questions into analysis, insights, and actions that improve product and company metrics
  • Collaborate with the Head of Data on our data architecture, foundations, and long-term vision
  • Evolve our data models, pipelines, instrumentation, and tooling as our needs change
  • Decide when to build, buy, or use lightweight solutions to solve data problems efficiently
  • Take our existing internal data agent to the next level, making it more useful and accessible across the company
  • Help teams across GitBook become more autonomous and effective in how they use data
  • Shape both what we build and how we work with data

Qualifications

  • Strong SQL, data modeling, analytics, and modern data tooling
  • Ability to move between analysis, data foundations, and building practical solutions
  • Comfort learning and evaluating tools to evolve a modern data environment
  • Product mindset with curiosity about users and product behavior
  • Ownership & judgment in ambiguous problems and ability to decide build/buy/simple approaches
  • Collaboration across product, engineering, growth, marketing, and leadership
  • Bias for impact in delivering measurable outcomes
