About the role

Full Stack Software Engineer role within Faculty's Public Services Business Unit, building and scaling AI-powered systems for government and public sector clients. Opportunity to own the full stack, turn machine learning outputs into production-ready solutions, and work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Working in cross-functional teams, alongside Data Scientists and Product Managers, to deploy technically sophisticated, high-impact software.
  • Building reliable, and scalable frontend and backend architectures to enable the seamless delivery of advanced AI systems.
  • Building data pipelines and cloud infrastructure as part of wider AI systems.
  • Providing deep technical expertise to customers, helping them navigate complex requirements.

Qualifications

  • Solid backend development skills in Python frameworks (such as FastAPI) and comfortable managing the full application lifecycle.
  • Full-stack experience with exposure to TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React or Vue
  • Experience deploying software within cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP, ideally using containerisation tools like Docker.
  • Demonstrates a scientific and pragmatic mindset, testing assumptions and balancing big-picture vision with the technical details required for execution.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a balance between rapid prototyping and long-term maintainability.
  • Thrives in autonomous, fast-paced environments with full ownership of problems.
  • Compelling communication skills; team-oriented culture and a relentless drive to learn and apply novel technologies.
