About the role

Role leading Shopify partnerships in Greater China (mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) with end-to-end ownership of partner strategy, execution, and merchant success. In-market leadership responsible for agency/SI, technology, import motion, platform and JV relationships, and building a scaled long-tail motion in a rapidly evolving market.

Responsibilities

  • Agency and SI partnerships across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, including the managed partner portfolio and the team that runs it.

Qualifications

  • An existing, activatable network across the Greater China partner landscape: agencies and system integrators, technology partners, domestic commerce platforms, potential joint venture partners, and industry and trade associations.
  • Evidence you create opportunities rather than manage them.
  • Presence and persuasion to engage founders, executives, and leaders.
  • Relentless energy with follow-through to convert opportunities into outcomes.
  • Ten or more years in partnerships, channel, alliances, or ecosystem roles with significant time in Greater China, or an equivalent track record.
  • Native Mandarin proficiency with professional English.
  • Deep knowledge of the Chinese export ecommerce ecosystem and Western D2C fundamentals.
  • Experience owning business outcomes through partners and building scalable partner motions.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across markets and time zones, with tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Technical fluency to discuss software platforms and integrations with partners.
  • Demonstrated use of AI in day-to-day work with measurable impact and strong written communication.
