About the role

Meta's Content Policy team seeks a Deputy Oversight Board Liaison to review potential cases for the Oversight Board, draft submissions, and manage day-to-day case operations. The role emphasizes legal writing, analytical thinking, project management, and coordinating with internal teams to explain Meta’s decision rationales and improve processes. The position involves organizing live briefings for Board members and staff and may involve exposure to graphic or objectionable content.

Responsibilities

  • Work with teams across Meta to investigate cases chosen by the Oversight Board and identify potential cases to refer to the Board
  • Understand and articulate how Meta's values and policies apply to these cases, verbally and in writing
  • Manage day-to-day case operations, including tracking case milestones and deadlines
  • Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams such as Public Policy, Governance, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Communications, Marketing, Partnerships, and Legal
  • Provide feedback to operational, policy, and other Meta teams to implement recommendations from the Oversight Board
  • This role may involve exposure to potentially graphic and/or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos, audio, and writings, offensive or derogatory language, self-injury, animal abuse, and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Law
  • 2+ years of experience in law, government, or public policy
  • Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to draft persuasive written materials
  • Ability to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content
