About the role

Senior IT Workplace Specialist responsible for Fonio's internal IT setup end-to-end, including device, account, access management, SOC 2 readiness, and ongoing internal IT support to enable scalable, secure, and audited operations.

Responsibilities

  • Joiner, Mover, Leaver: Manage full employee lifecycle on IT side, provisioning on day one and automatic access updates or revocation.
  • Device management: Set up, rollout, and manage all laptops via MDM (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, Intune) including enrollment, policies, encryption, updates, and inventory.
  • Access management & automation: Own SSO, user provisioning, and permissions across SaaS stack (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and more); automate processes to minimize manual steps.
  • SOC 2 readiness: Prepare for SOC 2, implement controls, document processes, and collect evidence with external InfoSec Officer guidance.
  • Internal IT support: Act as go-to person for all tech needs within Fonio.
  • Tooling: Maintain clean tool landscape, manage licenses and costs, and eliminate shadow IT.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in IT administration, workplace IT, or IT operations, ideally at a startup or scale-up.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM solutions and managing macOS devices (Windows a plus).
  • Solid knowledge of identity & access management (SSO, SCIM, Google Workspace admin).
  • Automation skills: scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) and/or workflow tools (Zapier, n8n, Make). AI-native working style.
  • Bonus: exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
  • Structured, pragmatic, low ego; thrives in intensity.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
