About the role

Independent contractor project for Japanese voice data collection (Project Melora). Remote role requiring recording short, one-sided phone calls in Japanese to help build natural voice AI.

Responsibilities

  • Record solo calls on a secure platform (no second person needed; pause where the agent would respond).
  • Submit basic metadata after each call.

Qualifications

  • Native Japanese speaker, 18+
  • Able to read and follow short instructions in Japanese
  • Own an iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max or 17 Air
  • Have a quiet indoor recording space (no TV, traffic, fans, or other voices)
  • Can complete 4–10 calls, each 1–2 minutes (5 minutes max)
  • Can spread calls out: no more than 3 per day, at least 3 hours apart, at different times across several days
  • Comfortable improvising a natural, unscripted call following a 6-step flow (greeting, ID verification, describing issue, pausing for agent's reply, resolution, closing)
  • Will use only fake names and non-real personal information
  • Willing to be recorded, give consent, sign an NDA, and follow project guidelines
