About the role
Staff full-stack product engineer to ship Thunderbolt’s AI-enabled enterprise client features, work directly with technical partners and enterprise customers, and turn deployments into scalable product capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship full-stack features, integrations, and customer-specific customizations in the Thunderbolt codebase, from front-end UI through APIs, services, and deployment configuration.
- Work directly with technical partners and enterprise customers to understand environments, requirements, and constraints, turning them into technical plans and working software.
- Support pilots, proofs of concept, and early production deployments, including partner-hosted and customer-controlled environments.
- Diagnose and fix complex issues across application, infrastructure, identity and access, integration, and data-access layers, including bugs and regressions requiring code changes and releases.
- Maintain customer-specific customizations over time as the core product evolves.
- Identify customer requests that should become general product capabilities and advocate for generalized solutions.
- Contribute deployment feedback to roadmap and prioritization discussions.
- Write documentation, deployment guidance, and runbooks for partner self-sufficiency.
- Use AI-assisted development tools judiciously to balance speed with quality, security, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with Staff-level scope and impact.
- Strong full-stack skills including modern TypeScript/JavaScript, component-based front-end frameworks, and back-end services, APIs, and integrations.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners, or systems integrators in a technical capacity where you also wrote code.
- Experience building or supporting AI-enabled applications (e.g., LLM platforms, RAG, agents, enterprise search, or data connectors).
- Understanding of enterprise deployment concerns: authentication/identity providers, access control, self-hosted/hybrid infrastructure, observability, reliability.
- Judgment on when to build vs generalize vs push back on requests.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Comfort operating independently in an early-stage product with evolving requirements.
