Network Deployment and Maintenance Lead - Data Center Operations

About the role

Senior lead responsible for deploying and maintaining Anthropic's data-center networks across partner-operated sites, including on-site delivery, turn-up, validation, and repair programs, with heavy travel and cross-functional coordination with WAN/Core networks.

Responsibilities

  • Own network deployment outcomes for assigned sites and data-hall waves: DCN, management, telemetry, Accelerator chip back-end networks, aggregation layers, turned up and accepted on schedule; manage exceptions or escalate risks.
  • Engage from construction kickoff and confirm network readiness ahead of each wave: pathways, fiber trays, cabling, optics, receiving paths, partner staffing; work gaps with site operations partner and facilities.
  • Be on site during network delivery, cabling, turn-up, QA, and close-out; verify work personally and support on-site teams with expertise.
  • Validate handover gates for each network build: cabling/link validation, acceptance criteria, documentation, spares, live ticketing, structured handover to production operations and repair program.
  • Own the network repair program across the fleet: repair SLAs, prioritization, escalation paths for switches/ optics/ cabling; backlog tracked in telemetry dashboards.
  • Manage RMA and spares for network gear with vendors and site operations partners, including warranty claims and spare levels to avoid SLA gaps.
  • Lead operating cadence with partner site leads: weekly deployment and repair reviews, scorecards; analyze failure patterns and drive corrective actions with network engineering, suppliers, and WAN/Core teams when core network involvement.
  • Turn lessons from deployments and repairs into program standards (procedures, checklists, acceptance criteria, metrics) and communicate status, dependencies, and risk to engineering, capacity planning, and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data center operations or network deployment as a manager, technical lead, or related role with delivery milestones and production availability accountability.
  • Proven track record leading data center network deployments at large scale across multiple sites or data-hall waves, from early floor access through turn-up and acceptance.
  • Experience running break-fix or repair programs for network hardware, including ticket flow, RMA, and spares; vendor/OEM/contract workforce management with measurable outcomes.
