About the role

Lead the technical development of maritime autonomous systems from concept to delivery within Anduril’s Maritime Division, coordinating with Strategy and strategic opportunity customers to ensure requirements traceability to program office decisions and to align with the company’s strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the initial design, prototyping, capability verification, and delivery of a maritime autonomous system
  • Manage the initial design of the system and subsystems including system architecture development, requirements definition, system and sub-system trades and optimization, risk management to shape the product
  • Perform systems engineering and trade analyses to enable exploration and rapid iteration of early conceptual designs, ensuring warfighter solutions for current and future conflicts
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain to embed design for manufacturing in early concepts and mature for full-rate production at scale; drive product differentiation through manufacturing capabilities
  • Work with senior leadership to ensure resource plans are adequate for work scope
  • Oversee technical execution of the generation of a new surface product for Anduril Maritime
  • Define key capabilities, milestones, and demonstrations for continuous development and maturation of autonomous systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Systems Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent, or proven experience in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 15 years experience with technical leadership and systems engineering on defense systems or weapon programs
  • Strong Systems engineering and architecture definition background to bridge software service and hardware product developments
  • Strong understanding of how product development aligns with program acquisitions to ensure HW/SW roadmaps and program requirements
  • Strong leadership and collaborative/integrative leadership demonstrated capacity
  • Experience with sensing payloads and comms architectures
  • Ability to support/manage technological roadmaps in critical areas for collaborative design and capability alignment
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Travel 25% to Customer and Test Sites
