About the role

Manager of Demand & Supply Planning responsible for leading a team of planners, executing S&OP, and delivering in-depth analysis to support materials, builds, and Rate/Ramp planning for Sentry product lines in a fast-paced defense hardware environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the outcome of the S&OP process for assigned products.
  • Evaluate and hold the S&OP plan against Annual and Quarterly Operating commitments and shipping requirements: identify where the plan is drifting, quantify the gap in units, dollars, and dates, and bring options to close it rather than reporting the variance after the fact.
  • Articulate risk to the plan with a clear point of view and mitigation options: what is at-risk, what is the cost of doing nothing, what are the options, what decision is needed, and by who and when.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of Demand & Supply Planners while staying hands-on yourself; regularly conduct 1:1s focused on growth and steering. Provide actionable, real-time feedback and design clear career paths for both junior and senior planners.
  • Act as the connective tissue between Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, and Program Leadership. Reconcile competing inputs into an actionable plan.
  • Set inventory strategy across the supported product lines, balancing service level, lead time, and schedule protection against excess, obsolescence, and cash tied up in material.
  • Define Key Performance metric targets for Supply & Demand Planning functions.
  • Implement and maintain planning systems and tools to improve planning accuracy and visibility across the organization.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations on New Product Introduction and rate ramps so material, capacity, and lead times are in place ahead of first builds and production increases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (i.e. manufacturing, engineering, analytics, computer science, etc.) or business field (i.e. finance, economics, supply chain management, business administration, marketing, etc.)
  • 8+ years of experience in a supply chain or production role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
  • 3+ years of experience managing a direct team
  • Demonstrated ability to completely own complex value chains from start to finish, coordinating between multiple internal and internal parties to ensure on-time deliveries and adherence to quality standards
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, Netsuite, and CRM systems like Salesforce
  • Ability to demonstrate a willingness to take on substantial responsibility across supply chain, logistics, engineering, and supply planning functions with a bias towards speed and accuracy
  • Strong technical expertise including ability to read technical documentation, drawings, and CAD data, understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and structures/mechanisms
