About the role

Staff Systems Engineer to support the US Army's Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program within Anduril's Connected Warfare/Army & Enterprise Mesh engineering team. Lead cross-organizational partner engagements, design across boundaries, establish reusable patterns, and scale onboarding for Army formations and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead partner engagements end to end; Conduct the technical exchange, own the integration design, and drive open items to written resolution across both organizations.
  • Design across organizational boundaries; Own the problems that span several engineering teams and more than one company, where no single team owns the answer. You lead through design, orchestration, and proof of concept.
  • Establish reusable patterns; Convert recurring engagements into reference architectures, decision guidance, and integration documentation, and define standards for other teams.
  • Own the intake process; Translate partner and field needs into scoped, prioritized engineering work, and return a documented decision on each request.
  • Scale onboarding across the Army; Identify where integration and onboarding depend on individual intervention, and establish automated or self-service paths for onboarding across Army formations and industry partners.

Qualifications

  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in systems engineering, solutions architecture, integration engineering, technical program management, or forward-deployed engineering.
  • Architecture judgment in API- and service-based systems: design and critique of REST or gRPC integrations, authentication flows (OIDC, service credentials, secretless), data contracts, and event streams; reads specifications and source code fluently.
  • Ownership across an organizational boundary: technical lead to external teams or owner of a developer-facing platform surface with external or internal customers.
  • Technical program execution: conduct technical working sessions, document decisions, and track commitments on both sides.
  • Technical writing: reference architectures and integration guides; a writing sample is required.
  • Communication across audiences: ability to convey technical decisions to partner engineers and senior military stakeholders.
