About the role
Senior Software Engineer focused on safety, redundancy, and collision avoidance as part of Nuro Driver™. Contributes to the Parallel Autonomy System and Collision Detection System with strict latency requirements to protect passengers and road participants, across perception, planning, and control.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design and implementation of a system that spans perception, planning, and control.
- Contribute to designing validation methodologies to ensure high recall and precision on rare events.
- Tackle ML-based perception across sensor modalities including audio, estimating object velocity and acceleration with high accuracy, onboard latency optimization, and tooling for large-scale data curation.
- Partner with engineers focusing on collision avoidance.
Qualifications
- BS in relevant engineering fields such as CS, EE, or applied mathematics.
- Strong coding skills in C++.
- Experience deploying software in robotics products.
- Willingness to sweat the details and strive for precision in work.
