About the role

Weave Robotics is hiring a Robotics Software Engineer, Simulation to build and own the simulation platform used across the company for validating kinematics, controls research, and sim-to-real work. The role focuses on environments, assets, robot models, and fidelity to ensure sim works with hardware, enabling rapid iteration and robust planning/SLAM.

Responsibilities

  • Own the sim stack. Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, or equivalent: environments, assets, robot models, and tooling, kept current with every hardware revision.
  • Model what matters. Actuator models and contact parameters aligned with dyno and robot data; determine the fidelity needed for transfer.
  • Make training fast. GPU-parallel environment throughput, profiling, determinism and seeding for reproducible experiments.
  • Serve sim-to-real. System-identification pipelines, domain randomization tooling, and honest side-by-side hardware comparison.
  • Catch regressions before hardware does. Scenario and regression suites running controllers/policies in sim on changes.
  • Keep assets true. Pipeline from CAD/robot description to sim-ready assets to reflect the actual build.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years building simulation or robotics software, with deep hands-on experience in at least one modern robotics simulator (Isaac Lab/Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Drake, or similar).
  • Physics literacy: knowledge of contact solvers, fabrics solvers, integrators, and friction models, including limits of each.
  • Strong Python and C++ and reliable research-facing platform development.
  • Performance skill: experience profiling and scaling GPU-parallel workloads; treat environment throughput as a feature.
  • Respect for the real robot: ability to compare sim to hardware and drive improvements in the sim.
